After the Hooking (or before) Comes Braiding

A typical 3-day class will include learning the following:
- Students come to class with a 5 inch hooked circle, a 5 or 6 inch hooked square, and a 5 inch hooked heart.
- You will learn how to pad and back your hooking to make it the same height as the braid.
- After learning how to prepare the wool, braiding instruction begins.  See example to the right
- . All braided rows around hooking are joined together by the butting process.  There are many ways to Butt and I was recently taught an easy and quick method, which I will teach you to do in class.

braiding examples
The piece on the left shows a 9 loop braided center so that now you can put braiding inside of hooking.  This center will be taught in class.

The next piece shows a hooked heart and you will learn how to make double braided corners to make the point and reverse point of the heart.

The piece on the right is a hooked square center with a square cornered braid surrounding it and you will learn to add this border.
